2nd visit to the cage bar – it was only supposed to be a quick beer then back to the suite for a lie down but, after 4-beers we decided to stop at the glass house on board and have a late lunch (we can then skip the evening meal) which was to be accompanied by a glass of Bacchus and a glass of fizzy pop only to find out that lunch included two glasses of sparking white wine which naturally, accompanied our original choice.

After lunch we had a nice glass (each) of rosé port and all was well in our world. We then decided to take two large glasses of Bacchus back to our room along with a whole bottle for sail away. On the plus side (from the perspective of our livers), today had no cocktail’s or spirits 🫣

This is the view of our ship from what we call ‘The Cage Bar’ and yes, it is one of our favourite bars.

Also spotted swimmers in no swimming zone. Naughty swimmers.

As I’m sure you can imagine, by late afternoon we were whacked and once more needed a rest (I felt that after this cruise was after, we may just need a holiday 😳). Resting however wasn’t he order of the day/evening. Around 20:00 (ish), while at sea, the ships alarm sounded and crew were called to first stage response. There was a suspected fire in the incinerator room. Passengers advised to remain calm but parents should collect any children from the kiddi zones. Debbie starts gathering all medication and creates a grab bag. Podgeness carries on playing CandyCrush. Crew set to response stations. Debbie checks outside: The Butler is telling us to stay calm and stay in our cabins. Debbie looks at clothing options, Podge carried on playing CandyCrush but eventually gather his medication as well. 15 minutes later, everything resolved and loud clapping across all the balconies. everything now back to normal.

Anyway, during all the commotion, we did note a couple from the next suite but one: There response was ‘if the ships going down, we’d better get another drink in’, Podge and Tubbs agreed and then decided to stay in our suite for the rest of the evening.

That evening, we actually went to bed the same day we got up.

Step count – 6306 🥴
