Today, we are parked up in St Kitts and it’s blooming hot and made even hotter by our super cool special neighbour: The Arvia is parked next door and, she’s a big bugger (I thought our was big until I saw the Arvia). Should be a good sail-away this evening.

This morning, we will be [once again] revisiting Fairview Great House and Botanical Garden to [once again] learn all about Caribbean Cuisine. Yummy, Yummy. We thoroughly recommend it.

Post Breakfast, we headed ashore to pick up our tour bus that would take us to Fairview. As we’d been there the previous year we knew the route wasn’t too arduous so sat back and enjoyed the drive along the coast. On the way, as before, we passed by a well known sight of egrets in a tree and as before, we failed to take a picture so I’ve linked to a picture in Tripadviser.

Once at Fairview, we [once again] took the tour of the house and gardens before moving to the ‘learning to cook’ venue. Here we were [once again] treated to traditional cooking of local cuisine that included:

  • Jerk Pork or Chicken;
  • West Indian Steamed Fish;
  • Red Beans & Rice;
  • Vegetable Escovitch, and;
  • Coconut Butter Bread Pudding.

And believe me, all of it was absolutely delicious. I ate it all, even the vegetables. 😋

Once we’d finished watching, learning, and eating, we were then released back into the grounds where we idled the time waiting for our tour bus to take us back to the port where we would of course divert to the Champions Bar [once again] for our dose of very, very loud music and a couple of beers: More about this when we stop [once again] in 7-days time.

Our thirst, temporarily sated we made our way back to the ship and settled onto our balcony to watch us sail away from St Kitts leaving the brute of a ship 😉 (not really, she’s lovely but bigger than ours) at St Kitts. We could hear all the sail-away singsongs from both ships as each try to out sing each other then the captains joined in with the ships horns: All in all, we made one heck of a racket and we all had a good time. I still maintain the sail-away from Saint Maarten in 2022 when we were in port with the Azura.

Having satisfied our selves that we had safely left St Kitts and lost the Arvia we got ourselves ready for some evening drinks and possibly a late bite of something in the Glass House before retiring [once again] to the Crows Nest for some end of day drinks. Then, it was back home to our cabin for some very well earned rest. Even so, we still failed to go to bed the same day we got up.

Step count – 7104 🥴
