Yesterday, His Podgeness ordered a desert for the first time in 3-weeks. This morning it would seem that all shirts have shrunk (poor Podge).  As a result breakfast was extremely uncomfortable-poor Podge. Naturally, the shirt was changed soon after having established that at least three shirts have clearly been affected by the salt water shrinking effect.

By now, this cruising was starting to take its toll and as such we had a very lazy day (even though we both knew that Podge really needed to explore ashore for some bigger shirts). Post breakfast we did attempt to do a couple of laps but Podge felt too tired to do too many so called it a day on such exertion. We therefore went to the Market Café for a coffee and maybe, just maybe, ok, definitely, a cake over which we would plan the rest of our day. In reality, what we did do is drink our coffee and take our cakes back to our suite where we agreed we would simply chillax for the day on our balcony and maybe consume some of the fizzy pop that had been accumulated in our fridge (see endnote). So that’s what we did and we did just that we idly watched the boat people being transferred to the beach (in the morning) and from the beach (in the afternoon): We both agreed, We’re not beach people, we’re balcony people! 😎

After our fizzy pop and of course our afternoon nap, the evening drew in and dinner beckoned: We had decided that this was to be taken, once more, in the Beach House where we enjoyed the yummiest chicken sizzlers and jerk chicken: All very, very yummy, after which we made our way to the Crows Nest. Our arrival was met by a demand from the head barman (we always called him Brian – see endnote) as to why we were absent the previous night. Podge gave his abject apologies and finally confessed that he had been feeling poorly, probably an allergy or something, to which Brian prescribed a very large brandy steamer. Nice 👌. Tubbs had to make do with her Cosmopolitan which, she did of course enjoy, at least twice.

That evening, we reverted to type and failed to go to bed on the same day we got up. 🥴

Step count – 4599 🥴

Endnote:

Brian wasn’t the real name of the Head Barman: We just liked to give our own names to people we liked. For Instance, we named our housekeeper Ninja and the one in charge of all the bars we called Mr Pickwick (he was always carrying lots of bits of paper).

One of the perks of having a suite, maintaining loyalty and, enjoying back to back cruises is that you get a bottle of champagne at the start of each cruise and a half bottle on the first formal (celebration) night. By day 22, our fridge was bursting with fizzy pop and wine we accumulated over the previous three weeks and so we just had to ‘enjoy’ 🍾🥂🍾 😎
